Appointments and Cancellations
Missed appointments and cancellations with less than 24 hours notice, will incur a 50% fee of the standard grooming charge.
Late arrivals. Please arrive on time, more than 15 minutes late will result in a rescheduling of your appointment and will be deemed as a missed appointment which will incur a 50% fee of the standard grooming charge.
Late collections. I am a one to one groomer and some of my clients are not friendly with other dogs. So a timely collection is required, as i will have to reschedule other clients, lateness will incur extra charge.
Pet Care
Vaccinations must be up to date.
Any new or ongoing medical conditions, behaviour issues or allergies must be disclosed. This helps to ensure your pets’ health in the grooming process.
Aggressive Dogs
Disclosure of any behavioural issues must be declared when making your first booking. Including dogs that may bite and nervous dogs.
I reserve the right to refuse service or end mid-groom if deemed unsafe for me or the dog. This decision will not be taken lightly and I will do my best to finish safely, with the aids I have to hand (including muzzles, restraints and hammocks) if these are not acceptable to the client then the dog will not be groomed.
Photography and Social Media
Photos and videos may be taken of dogs before, during and after grooming, for promotional purposes and my records. You may opt out if you do not wish photos to be posted on socials or the website.
Matting Policy
In the event of a matted coat needing a shave down, my first priority is the safety and comfort of the dog.
Your dog having a matted coat can not only be uncomfortable, due to the nature of the matting being so tight to the skin it can cause pulling or pinching of the skin and prevent air circulation, it provides the perfect environment for bacteria, parasites and fungus spores to grow, spreading small infections.
Shaving your dog’s coat short and not attempting dematting helps prevent discomfort, unnecessary stress and injury to your pet.
Shaving down your dog comes with some risks
Discovery of hidden skin conditions, injuries or parasites.
Skin redness, clipper burn,small knicks due to the close proximity of working to the skin or irritation.
Temporary change in coat appearance and texture.
Trying to brush out a matted is a long and horrible process for a dog and will not be offered.
The owner is responsible for regular brushing of the coat. I can advise on this but I am here to maintain coat length and condition not to brush your dog. I will work with you to find a manageable length for you and your dog to prevent future matting.
Injury Disclaimer
Firstly I take every precaution to ensure your pets comfort and safety during grooming however grooming poses some risks.
Possible Grooming Related Injuries
While I do my utmost to avoid, grooming may result in:
Minor bleeding from the nail after being trimmed.
Skin redness, sensitivity or allergic reaction to grooming products.
Minor nicks, cuts or clipper irritation.
Eye irritation from shampoo or hair particles.
Contributing Factors
The risk maybe higher if your dog has:
Aggressive or nervous behaviour.
Excessive movement during the grooming process.
Severe matting or knotting.
Pre-existing skin conditions.
Medical conditions.
In Case of Emergency
If urgent care is needed I will seek veterinary care at your or the nearest
clinic available.
I will notify you of any injuries.
All costs for veterinary treatment are the owners responsibility.
Owner Acknowledgment
By booking an appointment you accept the risks associated with grooming and authorise you to act in your dog’s best interest in case of an emergency.
Release my business from liability for minor injuries that can occur despite reasonable care.
